Mom Can Have Soft Hands Too

May 3rd, 2014 • Posted by Dazzles • Permalink

Her hands have given so much love over the years. She placed a cool cloth on your forehead when you were ill, cooked your favorite meal when you were hungry or needed cheering and patted you on the back when you were discouraged. A mother's hands are precious to her child and should be treasured. That's why focusing on her hands can lead you to a gift she'll love for Mother's Day. A manicure is the perfect gift for busy moms everywhere, because it will give her a chance to be pampered and she'll enjoy the chance to show off her pretty hands.

Is your mom one of those ladies who has everything? A manicure gives her a chance to spend a little time on herself. While she might not purchase a manicure for herself on a regular day, she is certain to use your gift of a manicure and will feel special and indulged while doing so.

Even if her life is hectic, a manicure will fit into her schedule because she can take advantage of it during a time that is most convenient for her. A manicure is also a good gift if you are on a budget, because purchasing a manicure for your mom doesn't cost a lot of money but shows that you were thinking of her and her need to relax and be cared for. It can be personalized with her favorite color nail polish or her favorite design, such as flowers. Unlike real flowers, painted flowers won't wilt away into obscurity in a few short days but will last for weeks.

If you want to present the gift in a fun way, purchase a small bottle of hand lotion in her favorite scent. Attach the gift of the manicure to the lotion bottle with a pretty ribbon and wrap it all up for a gift that she will appreciate for a long time to come. Every time she uses the lotion, she'll remember her manicure and feel loved and valued all over again.

For an added lasting memory, purchase a manicure for yourself and spend the day with your mom so both of you can be spoiled just a little bit and treated to the gift of beautiful hands.

Your Mother's Hands Deserve a Manicure

April 19th, 2014 • Posted by Dazzles • Permalink

Your mother's hands -- They bathed you in a sink when you were pink and new and scary-small; they cleaned up countless numbers of your messes; they guided you across busy streets, spent tireless hours correcting your homework, packed you healthy lunches; they reached out to you in times of trouble and times of joy. What better way to show your appreciation than with the gift of a Mother's Day manicure? The very name comes from the Latin words for "care" and "hands."

Let Mom sit back in the chair and have us take care of her hands for a change. File and shape them to perfection. Cut back those cuticles she never has time to deal with. Soothe her tired hands with lotion and massage.

Then let her choose a style she has pretended not to care about all these years because she was too busy caring for you. Perhaps a classy French manicure, with clear or blush polish and white along the nailtips would do. Or maybe a half-moon manicure, with the upper nails painted white and the rest the color of her choice.

Maybe Mom would like some long-lasting acrylic nails to accommodate her busy lifestyle. We also can offer a relaxing paraffin manicure for her, where heated wax moisturizes and softens-the perfect treatment for dry, overworked hands. Perhaps Mom will want to go jazzy, with a flowery or abstract design painted on her nails. It's her day. It's her choice.

Now, look down at your own nails. Hmmm... maybe they could use a little loving care too. If so, a mother-daughter trip will be the perfect excursion this Mother's Day. Call and schedule your appointment today.

Soft Spring Curls

April 2nd, 2014 • Posted by Dazzles • Permalink

It's no secret that sexy spring and summer hair is all about beautiful curls. You've probably even seen your favorite movie stars sporting gorgeous, cascading spirals on the red carpet. Have you ever wondered how they get those big, beautiful curls without them falling flat or looking crunchy? It's simple -- the right products plus the proper technique equals professional results. With this combination, you can achieve red carpet worthy curls.

First off, the preferred styling tool for this look is a 1-inch curling wand with a conical barrel, which starts with a wide base and becomes narrower at the tip. If you don't have a curling wand or a wand like this, you can use a regular curling iron or whatever wand you have, although the curls will look slightly different. The conical wand gives your curls a more natural effect, because it creates beautiful loose waves at the root of the hair with tight curls at the tips. Follow the directions below to get started.

  1. Apply a heat protectant to damp hair to protect your locks against the hazards of heat styling and sun damage.

  2. Use a comb to create a deep side part, which pairs perfectly with romantic curls and adds a touch of vintage glamour. Then divide your hair into four sections, from front to back and ear to ear.

  3. Beginning with the lower back section, grab a 1-inch section of hair and position the barrel at the root, wrapping your 1-inch section of hair around the barrel from base to tip. Hold for about 5 seconds, before releasing the curl into the palm of your hand to cool for a few seconds.

  4. Repeat step 3 on the remaining sections of your hair, until you've curled your all your hair.

  5. Gently shake curls out and rake your fingers through your hair to soften the style up for a softer, more natural look.

  6. Set style and lock in your perfect curls with a flexible hold hair spray.

Now that you've created your beautiful curls, there's no need to pile on the makeup. You're beautiful just the way you are. Simply, complete the look with a fresh face and a dash of coral lipstick to let your natural beauty effortlessly shine through. The best thing about flaunting your natural beauty is that it's in style all year long and compliments every hairstyle, so shine bright like the diamond you are.
